Starting with grinding and remove the top, damaged layer of old asphalt, creating a clean, even, and stable base (the prep) for a new layer of hot mix asphalt to be applied, ensuring better drainage, smoothness, and longevity, while also recycling the removed material. It's a crucial first step in resurfacing to fix those foundation issues like cracks, potholes, and unevenness, making the new surface last longer.
